These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings made with PLA Tours (trading name of Promised Land Africa). By placing a booking and paying a deposit you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms on behalf of yourself and all members of your party.
PLA Tours is a member of PTS (Protected Trust Services). Your money is financially protected. In the event that PLA Tours is unable to provide your holiday, you will be entitled to a full refund under PTS protection.
A binding contract between you and PLA Tours is formed when we receive your deposit payment and issue a booking confirmation. The lead booker must be at least 18 years of age. The lead booker is responsible for ensuring all members of the party comply with these terms.
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) per person and are correct at the time of publication. Current package prices are:

A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total booking value is required to secure your place. The deposit amounts are £300 (Bronze), £400 (Silver), and £500 (Gold).
The full balance is due no later than 30 November 2026 for the January 2027 departure. Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in your booking being cancelled and the deposit being retained.
All cancellations must be made in writing to info@pla-tours.co.uk. The date of cancellation is the date we receive your written notice. The following charges apply:
| Notice given before departure | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| Before 30 November 2026 | Deposit only (20%) |
| 1 December – 31 December 2026 | 50% of total booking |

| Less than 2 weeks before departure | 100% of total booking |
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation.
PLA Tours reserves the right to cancel or make changes to the trip in exceptional circumstances. In the event of a cancellation by PLA Tours:
Minor changes to the itinerary (such as the order of activities or alternative venues of a similar standard) do not constitute a significant change and will not entitle you to a refund.
Requests to change your package tier or any other element of your booking must be made in writing. Changes are subject to availability and an administration fee of £50 per person may apply. Package upgrades are subject to the difference in price being paid at the time of the change.
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all guests and must be in place before departure. Your insurance should cover at minimum: cancellation, medical expenses, personal liability, and loss of baggage. PLA Tours accepts no liability for losses that would have been covered by adequate travel insurance.
It is your responsibility to ensure you hold a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date) and any required documentation. UK passport holders do not currently require a visa to enter the Gambia. However, guests joining the Day 5 Fathala excursion into Senegal must hold a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate — no certificate, no entry at the border. PLA Tours accepts no liability for any guest refused entry due to insufficient documentation.
PLA Tours reserves the right to terminate the holiday of any guest whose behaviour is deemed disruptive, dangerous, or offensive to other guests, staff, or local communities. No refund will be given in such circumstances and the guest will be responsible for all costs of returning home.
PLA Tours accepts responsibility for the services it directly provides. PLA Tours does not accept liability for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, expense or claim which results from: circumstances beyond our control (including force majeure events); the acts or omissions of third-party suppliers; or the fault of the guest themselves.
Any complaint must be raised with your PLA Tours guide at the time so that we have the opportunity to resolve it. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, complaints must be submitted in writing to info@pla-tours.co.uk within 28 days of returning from your trip.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
